Kavanagh Injury Law — For Attorneys

Two Ways to Work Together.

Refer a case you can't handle. Or join our co-counsel network to receive cases in your state.

Super Lawyers Rising Star 2021–2026

Option 1

Refer a Case. Earn 50% of Our Fee.

You have a PI case you can't handle — conflict, capacity, or you're not licensed in that state. Send it to us. We handle everything at our flat 20% fee. You receive 50% within 14 days of collection.

How It Works

1

Submit the referral form below with client and case information.

2

You receive a co-counsel agreement instantly by email. We reach out to your client within 1 business day.

3

We handle the case start to finish at 20%. Case resolves — you get a check for 50% of our net attorney fee within 14 days of collection.

Example

$100,000 settlement → Our fee: $20,000 → You receive: $10,000

Client keeps $80,000 — same as if they came to us directly.

All referral arrangements comply with RPC 1.5(e) (or applicable state equivalent). Client is informed and consents in writing. Both attorneys assume joint responsibility per a signed co-counsel agreement.

Option 2

Join Our Co-Counsel Network.

KIL generates PI leads nationwide through our app, website, and phone line. When a client in your state contacts us, we need a licensed attorney there to handle the matter. That's where you come in.

This is not a referral arrangement where you send us cases. This is the reverse: we send you cases, you handle the legal work in your state, and we split the fee 50/50.

1

Apply

Submit your information below. We review every application personally.

2

Vetting

Bar check, 30-minute call, certificate of insurance, two references. We run the full checklist.

3

Agreement

Sign our Master Co-Counsel Service Agreement. Each matter gets its own signed addendum.

4

Receive Cases

When a case lands in your state, we reach out. You accept or decline. Fee paid within 14 days of collection.

What KIL Does on Every Case

This is what makes the joint responsibility real — not just a checkbox. KIL performs documented legal work on each matter:

Initial client intake and case evaluation

Primary point of contact with the client throughout

AI-assisted case management, records review, and settlement analysis

Client access to KIL case portal (real-time status, documents, messaging)

Coordinated settlement strategy and demand review

Consultation before any settlement recommendation goes to the client

Review rights on material work product and pleadings

Client trust accounting and all disbursements upon resolution

You handle: court filings, appearances, discovery, depositions, state-specific litigation strategy, and all local court requirements. Both attorneys assume joint responsibility under applicable RPC 1.5(e).

Fee Structure

You Receive 50% of the Net Attorney Fee

Paid within 14 business days of collection. Guaranteed in writing from day one.

Example

$100,000 settlement → Attorney fee: $20,000 → You receive: $10,000

Client fee stays at 20% — same as if they came to us directly.

Practice Areas

Select all that apply to your PI practice:

Trial Experience

Documented trial experience is required. "All cases settled" without a trial record is a disqualifying condition.

Two references — other plaintiffs' counsel or judges before whom you've tried cases. We will contact them.

Attorney FAQ

How is the co-counsel network different from referring a case to you? +
Referral: you have a specific case and send it to us. We handle it; you earn 50% of our fee. Network: we generate leads in your state and send them to you. You handle the state-specific work; we manage the client relationship and pay you 50% of the fee. The fee structure is identical — the direction of the case flow is different.
What does KIL actually do after the case is referred to local counsel? +
KIL remains the client's primary point of contact throughout. We conduct the initial intake and case evaluation, manage all client communications through our portal, review demand packages, consult on settlement strategy before any offer is recommended to the client, and review material work product. Every significant task is documented. We assume genuine joint responsibility — not nominal.
Can I decline cases you send me? +
Yes. Every case is proposed under a Matter Addendum before any commitment. You review the matter and either accept or decline. You are never obligated to accept a case with conflicts, capacity problems, or other legitimate concerns. If you decline, we find alternate local counsel.
How and when is the fee paid? +
KIL holds all client funds. When the case resolves and the attorney fee is collected, we send your share — 50% of the net attorney fee — within 14 business days by check or ACH. This is guaranteed in writing from day one in the Master Agreement and each Matter Addendum.
What if the case goes to litigation or trial? +
The fee stays at 20%. It does not increase at any stage. You are still paid 50% of that fee regardless of how long the case takes. If a case is heading to trial and you need to withdraw, we work together to transition the matter properly with client consent and in compliance with applicable withdrawal rules.
How long does the vetting process take? +
Typically 2-3 weeks from application submission. Phase 1 (bar check) takes 2 business days. The call is usually schedulable within a week. Document verification and reference checks take another week. We move quickly for applicants who are responsive and have materials ready.
