Privacy Policy
Kavanagh Injury Law, P.C. ("KIL", "we", "us")
Last updated: June 2026
Introduction
This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use the KIL mobile app ("the App"). The App helps people who have been in an accident document details, photos, and location information immediately after the incident ("Day 1 protection").
Information We Collect
- Locally on your device (always): Date/time of incident, location (text or GPS coordinates), description of what happened, photos you take or select, accident type (auto, premises, other), whether you requested an incident report.
- When you choose to send to us: Your name, phone number, optional email, and the capture details above. This creates a lead record so we can contact you about your case.
- Automatically: Basic app usage (no tracking across apps or advertising IDs for marketing).
How We Use Your Information
- To help you preserve evidence of your incident on your own device.
- To contact you (by phone, text, or email) if you choose to send a capture to us, so we can discuss your case and potentially represent you.
- To improve the App and our services (aggregated, anonymized data).
- Legal and safety reasons (e.g., responding to legal requests).
Sharing of Information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with:
- Our internal team and attorneys at Kavanagh Injury Law.
- Service providers that help us operate the App (e.g., Supabase for data storage, Resend for email notifications). They are bound by confidentiality.
- As required by law.
Data Storage and Security
Captures are stored locally on your device by default using secure storage. They are only transmitted to our systems if you explicitly choose to "Send to our team" by providing your contact information.
We use industry-standard security practices. However, no system is 100% secure.
Your Choices
- You can use the App entirely without sending any data to us (local-only mode).
- You can delete captures from "My Saved Captures" at any time.
- If you send a capture, you can still contact us later to request deletion of the lead record.
Children's Privacy
The App is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top will reflect changes. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance.
